Ashok Kumar (born 1 June 1950) is a former Indian field hockey player, known for his exceptional skills and ball control. Son of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand, Kumar was part of the Indian team that won the 1975 World Cup, where he scored the winning goal against Pakistan. He was awarded the Arjuna Award in 1974 and the Yash Bharati in 2013. Kumar represented India in two Olympic Games (1972, 1976) and four World Cups, winning bronze in 1971, silver in 1973, and gold in 1975. Postretirement, he managed the hockey teams of Indian Airlines and Air India.
