Adv. Ashish Shelar is a distinguished public leader, sports administrator and advocate of India’s evolving technology and sporting ecosystem. He currently serves as the Minister for Electronics, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Cultural Affairs, Government of Maharashtra.
With extensive experience in sports administration, he has served as the Former President of the Maharashtra Cricket Association and Former Treasurer of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), bringing valuable institutional experience in the governance and development of competitive sports.
His leadership extends across sports, technology, governance and youth development, with a strong focus on creating structured opportunities for India’s young talent.
As President of the E Sports Games Federation (ESGF), Adv. Ashish Shelar brings this experience to the rapidly growing world of esports, with a vision to strengthen the ecosystem through professional competition, athlete development, grassroots participation and international pathways.
His leadership represents a commitment to building an organised, inclusive and globally competitive esports ecosystem in India, while creating new opportunities for athletes, creators, coaches and the wider gaming community.
